It's like molasses rolling uphill in winter, I know. But I've got 2.5 acres now that's mine all mine and I will be working on some projects soon to transform that raw land into a homestead. It's a long timeline I'm on but I will get there eventually. Got some video of it which I will edit and post here soon. Lots of other stuff going on here as well so "soon" might be a relative term...
Anyhoo I'm still breathing. More to come, but not a lot in any kind of hurry. Time restraints guarantee that, and to a lesser degree, finances. But the biggest part is done. I got the land. And there are virtually zero restrictions on it, I can do whatever I want with it. No building codes, it's far enough beyond the bounds of any municipality in an unincorporated area which is likely to remain that way, no deed restrictions... A free and clear piece of land. One of the last refuges left in this country. And given that, I am keeping the location to myself!

Good for you!! I hope the quiet will do you good. It will take time start small. I would advise fruit and nut trees as a priority. Buildings cost a lot trees don't . Good luck and do as you please its about your and family's enjoyment.
Sounds awesome man. Glad to hear you found a place 'Beyond the Sidewalks' that is quiet and where you can hear yourself think. I'm sure the sunrises and sunsets are fantastic. Keep us in the loop.
More to you. Good luck
You are very lucky to have been able to get it. I wish you every success in making whatever your dream is come true. Had I to do it over again I would have bought unrestricted property. I work within the constraints, just wish I could have some chickens. Should have a pretty good garden, though.
Slow progress is still progress. Congratulations on getting land. Good to hear from you again. All the best.
good of you to at least having a decent landing spot for the mothercraft
heh!

What about the family? Didnt you have a wife and a little girl? Did you leave them behind or are they joining you on this journey?
Awesome progress!
Buena suerta!
Gary, good advice and pretty much with my plan.
Anon, they are and will do
Thanks Grueldog
Momlady, unrestricted land is extremely difficult to find, took me years but found it in my own back yard so to speak. Unincorporated areas are the ticket
Sixbears thank you and hopefully I'll be able to get back in the groove soon. You and your lovely wife's adventures have been a great inspiration to me as well as your DIY spirit and skills
Wildflower, there is a landing spot. and it will be well covered from every direction with weapons heh heh heh
Captain Kirk this is a two year plan. when my youngest graduates high school my wife and I will shag ass from this city to the property.
