I could possibly, maybe hitch an occasional ride on one of these two boats. If the stars align, the regular deck hand gets sick/hung over, and it coincides with a day off for me, I'm on "the list" to go out with my buddy who runs this crew boat...
Or, I could possibly get to run with an old skipper of mine on this "little" 38 foot beauty.
Either way is fine by me, so long as I get a good salt soaking. I'd really like to ride the crew boat, because I've never done that before. But the sport fisherman will do!
Meanwhile, I'm doing my best to crash Craigslist. Got a bunch of stuff for sale, sold one thing already, and have three more set to go tomorrow. Clearing out the last of the stuff from the old house before "D-Day" (foreclosure) on April 5th. Hopefully I'll get rid of it all by Friday. If so, I'll be able to finish up my raised beds and get some vittles in the ground.
I found a source of "truckload" garden soil (20 bucks!), and I'd like to get a load before they run out. If everything sells for asking price, I'll have two Benjamins and a Grant. That'll get the garden going nicely, and then some...

Totally awesome dude I'll be praying for you. Never hurts to have a liitle extra juice.
You need to be on the water.
BTW, The CC dump will let you come and get mulch for free - you shovel it into your own containers (buckets or truck bed or whatever).
They separate out yard waste and mulch it in three different groups - large, medium and small.
Good luck to you. Where's that little crew boat running out of? And about those following seas, it helps if the boat has a decent chime rail and a fast, big rudder.

Adventures, nope. And yep!
Anon 10:52, just make sure you bring your tire plugging kit when you go... I got some last year, had a LOT of trash in it.
Capt., thanks. She runs out of Port Aransas. From what I've seen of sport fishermen, they skimp on the rudders for the sake of speed. My old Chris Craft had HUGE rudders, and she handled great. Meanwhile a Bertram running on one engine, you have to drag a bucket off the "live" side to keep it from going in circles...
Ken, cool!
Mayberry,
Just a suggestion - you have some followers and readers that may buy stuff you would be willing to ship if you posted on your blog...
According to Mel Bartholomew, author of sq. ft. gardening, you only need 6" of top soil to grow most vegetables, and only 12" for most root crops. Of course there are always exceptions to the rule, but that would help determining your soil needs.
The link to his site is on my main page on the right hand side under the gardening heading. Lot's of good info there.
hope (or curse) you into suceeding somehow both the job and garden...
meanwhile it is damn good to see you doing things in a more positive way...
Wildflower
Dustin, most of what I'm getting rid of is large and bulky/heavy. Shipping would exceed the purchase price. The stuff is moving, made a C-note today...
Scout, I read that somewhere, which is where I came up with my 7 inch depth (two 4x4s stacked). The root stuff is going in deeper containers. Thanks for the info though!
Wildflower, your last curse worked half way, so let's go with that : ) Doing things in a positive way, well I guess you could say that. But it's my "negativity" that's driving it...
